So last Thursday i had a lovely trip to the dentist, but keeping in mind i haven't attended since i was Ten as I've had no problems. When i was younger i had to go the sugary to get some of my baby back teeth taking out as i has too many teeth in there. So as you can imagine i'm Pretty terrified. Plus my Anxiety isn't making the situation any better.
The first week in January my filing in my back tooth decided to pop out and left me with a big whole in my tooth. it wasn't bothering me as there was no pain or it wasn't bleeding, but i decided that i had to go back and get it fixed or else it could lead to bigger problems. So last Thursday i made my check up appointment and he fitted me in for three o clock that day. I was pretty nerves going for a check up even though i knew he wouldn't do anything. When i walked in the first thing i said was i suffer with Anxiety and that i was really nerves. He was so nice too me about it and was telling me everything he was doing and why he was doing it. After he had a look at the tooth he said that he will fill it, but if the filling doesn't take it could lead to Rootcanel or taking out the tooth. Know that's only if i experience pain a week or two latter so cross your fingers that i don't hahaha.
I rang them up than a few days latter and eventually made the appointment because it has to be done but i'm terrified. My appointment is made for the 30th of this month at three o clock and i am so so so scared no lie. I know i probably come across as a big baby but i'm seriously terrified to the point where i'm having bad dreams about it every night and its not for another two weeks. My mam will defiantly be tagging along with me that day as i will have really bad anxiety and will probably be vomiting everywhere. The poor man doesn't know whats coming for him. But i have to grow up and do big things on my own, but really, i'm having night mares already at night.
So if anyone would like the pass on some tips on getting through a filling i would be over the moon to hear them. Also let me know how your experiences went when you where getting a filling. And i will defiantly let you know how i get on after my filling goes in, but for the mean time i shall dream on until the day comes.
Don't worry. I hadn't been to the dentist in ages and needed a filling as my tooth broke. It was fine. The only slight pain is when you get a little sort of pin prick in your gum to numb it. After that you feel nothing. If you have anxiety it might be an idea to wear headphones and an eye mask. The noise of the scraping is not nice but believe me there is no pain after the little bit for a second at the start. You can do it!
